Dungannon Seconds opened their account with a win on the road in their first league game of the season. By the hour mark the visitors looked good at 21-3 before things went a little pear-shaped. Andrew Lee scored two of the tries and Gordon Stewart added a third. Gareth McGonigle converted all three while Rainey replied with a penalty. The hosts then bounced back with 2 tries and a penalty Added to that McGonigle was ‘binned’ and the score stood at 15-21. Jamie McNeill then relieved the pressure when he charged over for a fourth try for the visitors. However, Rainey never gave up and hit back with 2 more tries bringing them within one point of the leaders. The conversion of the second sailed wide and Dungannon emerged winners by the narrowest of margins, 26-25. Director of Rugby, Kenny Wright watched this game and was praiseworthy of the team performance despite the scare at the finish.
